Webinar: Commercial Condensing Boiler Optimization

CEE completed a field study on the impact of actual operating conditions on condensing boiler efficiency in Minnesota commercial buildings. Condensing boilers are one of the most promising natural gas technologies for reducing commercial energy use in Minnesota. However, many newly installed systems only achieve a fraction of their expected energy savings. 

Boiler equipment and controls are often based on standard operating conditions — which are different than the conditions needed for ideal performance — and modifications may be needed to achieve optimal performance. The research identified opportunities for significant savings from temperature control settings optimization and other low-cost upgrades.
