For nearly 40 years, CEE has been at the forefront of building science technology, collecting cutting-edge research, guiding building owners and homeowners through energy audits, promoting cleaner energy solutions, and advancing a more sustainable future through our program development and policy work.
We’ve taken that expertise and applied it to a robust suite of training services, from our workforce development offerings that empower a new and diverse cohort to enter the energy efficiency sector to our comprehensive contractor workshops and presentations that provide building science professionals with best practices, tools, messaging resources, and more to deliver the best and most effective energy efficient technology to their clientele.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has recognized CEE as Energy Skilled in Heat Pump Comfort Advising and Heat Pump Installation.
This badge reflects CEE's alignment with the DOE's clean energy transition work and highlights our capabilities to prepare workers for meaningful and in-demand job opportunities in this growing sector.

Workforce development
CEE offers paid training to join the fast-growing clean energy and energy efficiency sector. We prioritize training Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latino, people of color, and women from communities across the Twin Cities that have been underrepresented in this industry. Past graduates have gone on to work as energy auditors, insulation installers, line workers, contractors, and more.

Contractor training
CEE offers several trainings and programs for working contractors looking to expand their services and specialties in energy efficient technologies. The MN ASHP Collaborative has been offering contractor workshops and resources for years — participation can add your name to our growing Preferred Contractor Network.
We also offer insulation training and certification through our Authorized Insulation Contractor program, and our Senior Technical Manager, Dan Wildenhaus, conducts workshops and trainings on a wide range of weatherization and HVAC topics.
