Minnesota Energy Efficiency Potential Study: 2020–2029 Appendix E: Load Management and Demand Response
This Appendix provides an overview of demand response trends, results from other potential studies, and summarizes the technical potential of select demand response measures identified for this Statewide Natural Gas and Electric Energy-Efficiency and Carbon-Saving Potential Study.
As an energy Appendix E: Load Management and Demand Response Statewide Energy Efficiency Demand-Side Management Potential Study Center for Energy and Environment 7 efficiency standard, Minnesota’s Conservation Improvement Program (CIP) only considers demand response measures that reduce overall energy use. (Office of the Revisor of Statutes 2017).
Our technical analysis remained within these parameters, though we provide a more general overview of demand response outside of energy efficiency programs to set a broad framework for further discussion.
