The Kalamazoo Energy Collaborative aims to encourage large building owners in the city to reduce building energy usage. CEE coordinates this exciting new benchmarking program in a collaboration between Consumers Energy and the city of Kalamazoo. 

CEE President Chris Duffrin will join ACEEE's National Conference on Energy Efficiency as a Resource (EER) as a panel speaker, offering insight and perspectives on scaling energy efficiency equitably and rapidly. The Metropolitan Council is creating an internal, agency-wide Climate Action and Resilience Plan. The plan will unify efforts across all Met Council divisions to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate impacts, and help us build resilience to potential changes. Buro Happold has been selected as the primary consultant for the project and has partnered with CEE, Hazen, SRF Consulting, and Young Environmental as part of the project team. 

For a limited time, the City of Minneapolis is offering free Home Energy Squad visits for residents – including renters – living in one-four unit homes.

CEE's Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Mike Bull, is joining the Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) after developing, evaluating, and communicating effective clean energy policies with CEE for over 8 years. 

Part III of the MEEA Innovation Award blog series highlights the City of Minneapolis' Home Energy Disclosure program. CEE has helped the City run this program since January of 2020, and this program was awarded an Innovation Award for it's goals toward energy efficiency and becoming the 4th city in the country to pass a home energy disclosure policy.

Minnesota’s clean energy workforce is more diverse than the broader state economy. And more jobs are coming in fields like energy production, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and green construction. But workers of color need more access to training and pathways to higher-paying careers. This article highlights CEE and Xcel Energy's new workforce development program, and the ways in which the clean energy field is working to expand the growing field to include more high-paying people of color.
