East Calhoun residents are eligible to participate in Community Energy Services, CES, a comprehensive one-stop residential energy program available to select neighborhoods in 2010. For more information on CES, visit www.mnces.org.
East Calhoun Home Improvement Program
The East Calhoun Community Organization (ECCO) has recently allocated housing dollars to new programs for residents in the East Calhoun neighborhood. To learn more about the new loan and grant program attend a Community Energy Services workshop where you can talk to a CEE loan officer about your home improvement options. Also learn more about reducing your energy use and sign up for a customized home energy visit. For more information on CES click here. The first 100 East Calhoun residents to RSVP for the CES workshop will receive the home energy vist for free thanks to the East Calhoun Community Organization. For homeowners above and beyond the 100 participants there will be a $30 copay for the services which are worth up to $400.
Please note: You do NOT have to participate in Community Energy Services to participate in the home improvement program; however, the program details will not be released prior to September 16th in conjunction with the workshop above. The deadline for completed applications is Friday, January 14th, 2011 and applications will be processed first come-first serve. Should there be more applications than can be served, CEE will conduct a lottery to determine who receives funds.Applications and program details will be available at the workshop and online after Sept. 16th, 2010.
The Minnesota Fix-up Fund is a statewide program that offers loans at
below market interest rates to homeowners. The fix-up fund was established
to improve the basic livability and/or energy efficiency of the borrower's
home. Eligible projects include interior or exterior improvements, general
remodeling or maintenance items.
The Home Energy Loan Program is a statewide program that offers low
interest loans to homeowners that want to make energy improvements to
their properties. This program is only offered by the Center for Energy and Environment.
The Rental Energy Loan Fund provides financing to owners of residential
rental properties to increase the energy efficiency of their builidngs.
The Minnesota Department of Commerce sponsors the Rental Energy Loan
Fund using Exxon Oil Overcharge funds. This program is only offered by
the Center for Energy and Environment.
The Rental Rehabilitation Loan offers owners of residential rental properties
low interest financing to complete improvements that increase the livability
of the property including interior or exterior projects, general remodeling
or maintenance issues.
